Today, the Brian Hodgers Campaign announced the endorsement of the Cocoa Beach Hotel and Lodging Association PAC, which represents the hospitality lodging industry of Cocoa Beach and Cape Canaveral.
The group supports candidates for local and state offices. Hodgers is seeking the District 52 seat in the Florida House of Representatives.
“Brian Hodgers understands how critical tourism is to our local and state economy,” said Tom Williamson, Chairman Cocoa Beach Hotel and Lodging Association PAC. “We need business people like Brian in Tallahassee who know how to keep our taxes low, create jobs, and improve our education system.”
Williamson, who also serves as the Chair of the Brevard County Tourist Development Council, is the general manager of the Courtyard Marriott in Cocoa Beach and the Hampton Inn of Cocoa Beach. He is the past president of the Cocoa Beach Hotel Association and is a state board member of the Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association.
“Brian Hodgers knows the difficulties of establishing and expanding a business, making payroll, and the legal and regulatory challenges business owners face,” said Tom Hermansen, Treasurer Cocoa Beach Hotel and Lodging Association PAC. “We can count on him to be a champion for limited government and a free market in Tallahassee.”
Hermansen is managing partner of Ocean Partners, Limited, which owns and operates four hotels in the Cocoa Beach and Cape Canaveral area. He has served as a board member of the Florida Bank of Commerce for over ten years.
“I’m thrilled to have the support of the Cocoa Beach Hotel and Lodging Association PAC,” said Hodgers. “They represent one of the most important segments of our area’s economy. I look forward to working with them to make sure we have state policies in place that promote our tourism industry and make it easier for businesses to operate and grow in Florida.”
