Today, Brian Hodgers announced his candidacy for State Representative. The Melbourne businessman pledges to run on a platform of common sense fiscal responsibility and support for veterans. Keeping taxes low and minimizing government regulation are among his highest priorities.
“Brian Hodgers has built a successful business and is a solid fiscal conservative,” said local businessman Rick Lacey. “He knows what it takes for our economy to grow, and he has the right character, leadership ability, and conservative values to get it done for us in Tallahassee.”
Hodgers is running for the District 52 seat, currently held by Ritch Workman, who faces term limits in 2016. The district includes part of Brevard County, including Melbourne, Satellite Beach, Viera, and Rockledge.
“I am committed to making sure Florida’s economy remains strong, and the best way to do that is to make sure government stays out of the way,” said Hodgers. “Eliminating government red tape and cutting wasteful spending are essential to making sure entrepreneurs and employees alike are able to flourish.”
He also cites support for veterans as one of his top priorities. “Even if Washington won’t, in Florida, we must do right by the men and women who have served us so well in our armed forces,” Hodgers said. “I will work hard in Tallahassee to make sure they have everything they need for better health care and work force training.”
Hodgers says he looks forward to working with partners throughout the community in his campaign.
“I am committed to keeping District 52 and our state strong, and I am excited about taking our conservative message of smaller government, more freedom, and strong economic growth to the Florida House of Representatives.”
Hodgers is the President of Complete Choice Insurance in Melbourne and a graduate of Florida Atlantic University.
